According to Clean Tehnica, the first company that will receive the Tesla Semi, which was announced back in 2017, is PepsiCo, with DHL and Walmart waiting next for their units to be delivered.

We recently presented the updated list of specifications for the Tesla Semi, which is said to reach 100 km/h in 20 seconds from nothing when loaded with 37.2 tons of combined weight.

Also, the truck should be able to easily maintain highway speeds even when going uphill and a strong point of the new cargo transport vehicle is the fact that the long-range version could be able to hit over 800 kilometers of range.

PepsiCo prepared for the arrival of the new electric trucks, which can be charged at the company's own Tesla Megacharger, which should be able to take the truck to 70% batter charge in around 30 minutes.

Although it mentioned starting the production of the new truck, Tesla didn't disclose how many units in plans to manufacture within a certain amount of time.

At the same time, Electrive reports that in Germany, Amazon is said to receive 20 Volvo FH electric trucks for cargo transport, which the e-commerce company will use to replace its old diesel trucks.

This is one of the steps Amazon is taking in order to become a fully carbon neutral company by 2040.

Also starting next year in Germany, Amazon will start testing the Mercedes-Benz eActros Long-Haul, another long-distance, battery-powered truck which should help the company decarbonize its transport related emissions.

Besides the FH electric, which is manufactured in Goteborg, Sweden, Volvo also makes the FM and FMX electric heavy-duty trucks for various applications.

Starting next year, the three electric trucks from the Swedish company will also be manufactured in Ghent, Belgium.
