According to Green Car Reports, the hardtop convertible will be built on the company's own aluminum platform and it should "showcase the brand’s vision for future sports cars", according to Polestar officials.

The Swedish company will focus on tech, design and sustainability when building the Polestar 6, similarly to the Polestar 5, which should be released in 2024.

The electric powertrain won't be shared with Volvo models, as the Polestar 6 will have two electric motors capable of delivering up to 884 hp and nearly 900 Nm of torque.

The car can reach 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds and the top speed limit will be at 250 km/h.

Polestar also announced that it is taking deposits for the first 500 units of the car, which will be the LA Concept edition. This model will have a Sky blue interior and 21-inch wheels that are the same as the ones used in the concept model.

The Polestar 6 will also compete with the Porsche 718 electric variant.
