According to Reuters, the funding will be sufficient for the purchase of some 1.100 zero-emission buses, which will add to the existing 1.300 net-zero buses.

Among the bus models that will be purchased, 700 will have a hybrid-electric, natural gas and diesel-powered models.

White House infrastructure coordinator Mitch Landrieu said that "these grants are going to be used in every corner of this country."

For example, The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority will receive 104.1 million USD, which will be used to purchase 160 electric buses, while the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority will receive 116 million to buy 85 electric buses.
