According to Electrive, Mazda also takes into account investing in the production of EV batteries.
Despite its plans to increase the share of EV sales compared to the whole lineup, the Japanese company won't be offering series EV production numbers until the second half of this decade.
This means that until 2026 arrives, the manufacturer will be releasing hybrid powertrains at best as a more eco-friendly solution.
According to company officials, "taking into account the significant changes that have occurred in the business environment, including countries’ environmental regulatory trends, heightened geopolitical risks, and rapid development of advanced technologies, Mazda sets forth the basic policies for management stated below and will promote key initiatives."
To become a truly sustainable company, Mazda will also make its factories CO2 neutral with regards to the production by 2035 and to review its supply chain.
Any thoughts?
