ESG Today reports that this purchase agreement would cover 80% of the company's energy requirements in Europe, as per official statements, with the upcoming solar farm to start producing energy from 2025 in Andalusia.

Schneider Electric helped Alstom find and secure the energy procurement deal as the two companies will further collaborate to allow the full decarbonization of the operations.

Since the solar installation in Spain will start operating in 2025, Alstom will receive power until 2035 under the agreement.

Cécile Texier, Vice President of Sustainability & CSR, Alstom, said that "as a world-leader in sustainable mobility solutions, energy transition and decarbonization are intertwined with everything we do at Alstom."
