According to Electrive, when completed, the facility is said to have an annual capacity of 120 GWh.
As far as possible European locations, France, Germany and Poland are among the countries which could host the new factory, while potential site locations in the US have not yet been disclosed by the company.
ProLogium officials have until the first quarter of 2023 to decide on where the new plant will be built and the construction process will be a three-phase one.
Investments in the new facility are expected to total some 8 billion USD over the next ten years and company representatives say that it could create more than 6.500 jobs by 2031.
Vincent Yang, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of ProLogium Technology, said that "for most Asian companies actively going abroad, one of the keys to success is a solid foundation rooted in strategic planning."
"Site selection requires not only the right technology and solutions for that market, but also in-depth knowledge of local market demands and trends. That’s why we’ve chosen Accuracy as our advisor for one of our most important milestones", he added.
At the beginning of 2022, Mercedes-Benz made an investment of tens of millions of euros in ProLogium and the German carmaker will even work with the Taiwanese company for the development of next-generation battery cells.
ProLogium could start manufacturing solid-state EV batteries at the beginning of 2023, with an initial capacity of up to 3 GWh.
