ESG Today writes that Paris-based Smart Energies develops, finances, builds and operates renewable energy projects across Europe, focusing on small and medium photovoltaic projects. Smart Energies currently operates 500 solar installations with a total capacity of 160 MWp.

Back in 2022, Smart Energies raised 20 million euros, which helped the company open new offices in Italy, Greece, Finland and Sweden, as well as starting to develop energy storage solutions.

As per company officials, the new financing will help accelerate development across all countries, especially in Greece and the Nordic states. Vianney de l’Estang, President of Smart Energies, said that the new funding will support the construction of over 1.000 projects over the next four years.

He said that "Smart Energies, a mission-driven company, mainly develops projects on already artificialized land such as buildings, parking lots or small polluted plots, with strong local economic impact for the thousands of farmers, landlords, SMEs and craftsmen who are part of the adventure."
