As per ESG Today, originally launched back in 2017 as Goldman Sachs Renewable Power LLC, MN8 was rebranded and separated into a different company back in 2022. MN8 is a company that provides renewable energy solutions for corporative customers to help them achieve sustainability-related goals, like green power procurement and decarbonization, with a solar park consisting of 875 panels in 28 US states with a capacity of 3.2 GW.

The investment included 200 million USD worth-of funding from Mercuria Energy, as well as a 125 million USD from Ridgewood Infrastructure.

Jon Yoder, President and CEO of MN8 Energy, said that "our agreements with Mercuria and Ridgewood provide us with the financial means and capital to scale our growth, engineer innovative solutions for our clients and deliver enhanced value to our shareholders."

As part of the investment, MN8 and Mercuria announced a new strategic collaboration, focused on identifying potential commercial opportunities to develop sustainable, affordable and reliable energy solutions.
