Radisson Blu Hotel, Bucharest announces that, starting January 2022, the electricity contract ensures 100% energy from renewable sources. Through this initiative, Radisson Blu Hotel, Bucharest also announces the extension of its Green Key certification, obtained 9 years ago.

Green Key certification is an important international recognition for companies that participate intensively in the tourism development by carrying out an activity with minimal negative impact on the environment, defined as sustainable business.

The Green Key certificate is based on compliance with strict criteria in the field of environmental management (water, energy, waste, cleaning) and sustainable education (staff, guests, suppliers).

Green Key is supported by the World Tourism Organization and is recognized by the Global Council for Sustainable Tourism. Through this certification, the organization promises guests that by choosing to stay with them, it contributes in making a difference for the environment.

Therefore, we are glad that we have managed, through these investments, to achieve our goal of more environmentally friendly operations and increased comfort of our guests”.

Radisson Hotel Group has focused its strategies on developing sustainable solutions, including the Carbon Negative, Planet Positive initiative which consolidates the group's offer on organizing meetings with 100% carbon-neutral impact. T

he initiative forms part of the Group’s wider Responsible Business program which targets reducing the Group’s carbon footprint by 30%, and which aims to set science-based targets. Since the launch of the 100% Carbon Neutral Meetings program, the Group has offset over 30,300 tons of CO2 at no cost to its clients, which is the equivalent to removing more than 6,500 fuel driven cars off the road.
