According to Electrive, Foxconn will make the electric platform for sedans and SUVs, which will be made in Saudi Arabia and sold to the Middle East and North Africa from 2025.

BMW will also source some of its components to Ceer for its upcoming vehicles.

Saudi Arabia officials expect the new car brand to be able to attract direct investments of 150 million USD and they hope that it will be able to create 30.000 jobs.

American EV manufacturer Lucid Motors will also build a factory in Saudi Arabia which will have an annual production capacity of 150.000 cars.

According to an agreement signed by the two parties in April this year, the country will purchase 100.000 Lucid EVs over ten years.

Foxconn chairman Young Liu said that "we will leverage Foxconn’s technological expertise to support Ceer’s vision of creating a range of iconic electric vehicles that are built around the themes of connectivity, infotainment and autonomy."

"We want to make electric vehicles mainstream, and that is what Ceer is going to achieve in Saudi Arabia and the wider region", he added.
