ESG Today writes that Danish company Ørsted will provide Bloomberg with 80MW of clean power generated by its currently under-construction facility, based in Texas Mockingbird Solar Center project.

Bloomberg is committed to power all of its operations with 100% renewable energy by 2025, as it is one of the members of global corporate initiative RE100. Following the agreement with Ørsted, the company's operations in the US are expected to run completely on renewable electricity, while on a global level, Bloomberg wil have an estimated 80% clean-power share.

Dave Wildman, Global Head Facilities, Sustainability Ops, MEP Infrastructure at Bloomberg, said that "we look forward to partnering with Ørsted on the purchase of renewable energy to progress our RE100 target while also meaningfully contributing to conservation efforts."

Ørsted's Mockingbird solar plant project is expected to have a production capacity of 471 MW, enough to power around 80.000 homes annually, being the company's largest project to-date in the US.

Monica Testa, Head of Origination, Americas at Ørsted, added that "Ørsted’s commitment to the responsible development of clean energy at Mockingbird Solar Center demonstrates that conservation and clean energy can coexist."
