As per ESG Today, this makes Amazon the largest corporate renewable energy customer in Europe, with a portfolio of 160 wind and solar projects in 13 countries. Once operational, these are expected to provide 5.8 GW of emissions-free power.

Amazon's 2023 renewable investments include projects in nine countries, including Italy, France, Belgium and Spain and comprise of 15 rooftop solar parks, as well as 24 wind and solar farms.

Amazon officials stated that 90% of the company's used power in 2022 came from renewables, adding that the entire operations are to be powered by green electricity by 2025.

Lindsay McQuade, Director of Energy, EMEA at Amazon, said that "with more than 160 wind and solar projects in Europe, Amazon is helping to provide new sources of clean energy to local grids, creating jobs, and supporting local businesses as we progress toward powering our operations with 100% renewable energy by 2025."
