The transition to circular economy slowed globally last year, as the vast majority of raw materials entering economies are still coming from virgin sources, while the share of secondary, reused materials has steadily decreased over the past five years, from 9.1% in 2018 to 7.2% in 2023, indicates the “Circularity Gap 2024” study, carried out by Deloitte and the Circle Economy Foundation.
