The company is committed to creating an inclusive workplace for our talents, accelerating leadership accountability and diversity, providing inclusive experiences and content for its customers, and fostering D&I in the wider fashion industry together with its partners.

Over the past year, global macroeconomic conditions have had a significant impact on the entire world, including on the fashion industry.

Still, Zalando has continued to pursue its 12 D&I commitments.

According to the teaam, a significant achievement this year has been the progress Zalando has made on Adaptive Fashion.

”We’re proud that our private labels are serving our customers who identify as being disabled — a community that makes up about 15% of the world’s population. Adaptive Fashion is now live in our fashion store, and our dedicated offering is the largest among multi-brand platforms in Europe, including brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and Nike”, is stated in the latest diversity inclusion report.

The company is also closing in on its “Women in Leadership” commitment ahead of the 2023 targets.

On average, women now occupy 37.5% of leadership positions, toward its target of 40-60% by the end of 2023.

”For instance, we’re conscious that we currently don’t have enough women in tech roles. Therefore, we challenged ourselves with the ambitious commitment to increase the share of women in tech job families to 40% and 60% by 2023. This ambition makes us go the extra mile to make it happen. Our Reskilling Program is one such example, offering women at Zalando an opportunity to take part in specialist training and start tech-focused jobs”, is also stated in the report.

Also, as part of commitment to inclusive fashion, Zalando launched in October its first adaptive collection across private labels: Zign, Pier One, Anna Field, Yourturn and Even&Odd in 25 markets.

Adaptive fashion is clothing, footwear and accessories catering to the needs of disabled people, intentionally designed to be accessible for people living with permanent or temporary impairments.

Available in all Zalando markets, the collection includes women’s and men’s clothing as well as footwear, and is part of the company’s commitment to providing a truly inclusive assortment and experience for underrepresented groups by 2025.
