According to Electrive, VoltAero looks to get certification and start the production of its Cassio 330 aircraft.

Tesi will help the Frech company in making the chassis for the prototype that is due to take off in 2023.

Jean Botti, CEO and Chief Technology Officer of VoltAero, said that "Tesi’s decision to become both a strategic investor and industrial partner is a clear sign of the credibility of VoltAero’s technology and business model, as we take this important step closer to reality for the Cassio family of aircraft with this Series B financing round."

The first prototype developed by the company already had its maiden flight back in 2020, but company officials say that the second prototype that is to be built will be much closer to the series model in terms of design.

The Cassio 330 is a 330kW hybrid powered aircraft that can carry four passengers besides the pilot and the company has two more planes working on.

The first is the Cassio 480, which can carry six passengers and the Cassio 600, which can transport ten people.

The Cassio 330 is powered by a series of electric motors and the plane also has an internal combustion engine that acts as a range extender.

The electric drive can help the plane travel for 3 and a half hours and the estimated range is 1.300 km at a speed of 370 km/h.
