ESG Today writes that Ayrton Energy was founded by mechanical engineer Natasha Kostenuk and chemist Dr. Brandy Kinkead, which developed a proprietary technology, called liquid organic hydrogen carrier (LOHC), to facilitate the safe transport of the clean fuel. The company's team of experts managed to develop a solution similar to that used in petrol plants, eliminating the need of high-pressure tanks or cryogenic conditions, reducing the risks associated with transporting and storing hydrogen.

While lowering the overall operational costs, the system also enables faster deployment of the hydrogen infrastructure, usually quoted as one of the biggest challenges in adopting this type of fuel.

Natasha Kostenuk, Founder and CEO of Ayrton Energy, said that "enabling the widespread production of clean hydrogen will be the backbone of an emissions-free future, and we believe our industry-agnostic solution will be a step in the right direction to democratize energy access globally."

Clean Energy Ventures and Antares Ventures are among the investors who supported the funding round.
