According to Euronews.green, this is not the first time Boeri did something like this, as he is also behind one of Milano's most sustainable buildings, which became reality a decade ago.

And this is not the first time we wrote about Utrecht's sustainable tower building, either. Back in May, we reported that the upcoming green tower will also find place for 300 trees and around 10.000 plants.

Residents are said to be able to inhabit the new building starting the summer of 2024. Green areas in a city don't only help with improving air quality, though. They also boost mental health and can help cities fight urban heat islands, researchers suggest.

The 300 trees and 10.000 plants are the equivalent of one hectare of forest and the green tower will give citizens around 41 tons of oxygen every year.

The Wonderwoods towers, which will be 105 and 70 meters tall, respectively, will house 200 apartments and 15.000 square meters of office spaces. It will be the taller 105 meters tower which will become a vertical forest.
