As per ESG Today, 2020-launched Earthshot Labs has a platform that develops and finances nature restoration and conservation projects, with carbon being the main financing mechanism. Thus, nature restoration and conservation developers are helped by the team at Earthshot Labs to get verified carbon credits and to receive funding.

Using this business model, the company was able to help over 60 such projects so far that span over more than one million hectares, directing over 55 million USD in financing. These projects are expected to capture as much as 30 million tons of CO2 emissions.

Derek Chau, Partner at Acorn Pacific, one of the investors who participated in the funding round, said that "Earthshot has one of the most experienced and scientifically credentialled teams in the industry, and has a proven track record with many of the largest companies in the world. We analyzed over 200 climate tech companies before making this investment."

Resilient Earth Capital and Orca Capital were among the other financers that backed the 5.5 million USD Series A round.
