Euronews.green writes that Maison Tournesol was created back in 2019 by four French architects in order to make use of the impressive amounts of unused materials.

Francois Bois, co-founder of Maison Tournesol, said that "the linear economy is: we take, we build, it lives, and then it dies. This is when we come in. At the moment when it dies, when it becomes waste, we say no, we stop it."

He also stated that through the business practice, the company is able to save two tons of waste and six tons of carbon emissions.

Even the company's workshop in Toulouse is made from construction materials left behind at a junkyard, such as iron rods, aluminum panels and other metal structures.

“We said to ourselves: well, we're going to reuse as part of a circular economy and that's going to be our battle horse with Tournesol", the co-founder added.

The first lineup of "Zero" furniture from the company was made available back in 2022 and it was made from a mix of metal and wood materials. Building on from that success, Maison Tournesol is now looking forward to the launch of its second collection of single-color furniture, named "Mono".
