A global survey conducted by IBM Institute for Business Value (IBV), a think thank initiated by IBM, of 3,000 CEOs from 40 countries, active in 28 industries, cited by Reuters, reveals the fact that sustainability has become a core topic on their agendas.

But it is also a challenge, since companies are facing more and more pressure from stakeholders (and we’re talking here about employees, the community, shareholders, investors, business partners, suppliers) to prioritise sustainability actions, such as the transition to a low-carbon economy.

So, the survey conducted by IBM showed the fact that sustainability is a top challenge for 51% of CEOs around the world, up from 32% the year before.

Interestingly, of the CEOs surveyed, more than 80% expect investments in sustainability to deliver higher business results over the next five years, the report showed.
