According to experts at Honeywell, the tool accounts for different things when adjusting the temperature control, such as identifying empty spaces, without impacting the customer comfort. For example, if a guest leaves for a ski session and leaves the room for a few hours, the system will lower the heating output, raising it once more when he/she comes back.

For unrented rooms, these can be gently cooled or heated, with the temperature control being boosted once a new customer checks-in, says ESG Today.

According to Honeywell, this marks the expansion of the INNCOM technology beyond high-end hotels to mid-market units and some of the key features are the quick setup of the system and the analysis of the hotel and the rooms, which can be done through mobile devices or a dashboard.

Billal Hammoud, President and Chief Executive Officer of Honeywell Building Automation, said that "as hotels become more carbon-conscious, they are taking meaningful steps to show they care about their impact on the environment. Until now, mid-market hotels faced fewer options when it came to better managing their HVAC systems with automation. Now, INNCOM Direct is leveling the playing field with an affordable, cloud-based energy management system."
