As per ESG Today, Samsara Eco provides a natural solution for recycling, using enzymatic technology to recycle plastic. The team employs enzymes to turn complex plastics back into their original chemical building blocks, helping manufacturers re-use them to produce new virgin-grade plastics without relying on fossil fuels.

Through a partnership launched last year with Lululemon, Samsara Eco demonstrated a technology that is able to extract Nylon 6,6, a common type of nylon used in the fashion industry, from end-of-life fabrics. Because it's a durable material, it is more difficult to recycle, compared to other types of nylon.

The planned facilities Samsara Eco wants to construct are expected to recycle millions of tons of nylon once operational. Additionally, experts at Samsara Eco will work on developing a recycling process that will enable "infinite recycling" for all types of plastics, while making it easy to implement across a variety of industries.

Paul Riley, CEO and Founder of Samsara Eco said that "plastics have been an environmental disaster with almost every piece of the 9 billion tons ever made still on the planet. But almost all plastic is reusable and recyclable with the right technology. We’re on a mission to end plastic waste and with it, repair our climate. The ability to infinitely recycle plastic in an environmentally friendly way is a game changer for brands and our planet."
