Tech.eu writes that the Finnish technology company makes use of IoT devices, as well as artificial intelligence, to continuously optimize industrial liquid processes. This helps companies in the food industry optimize their use of materials, while also saving water and reducing CO2 and waste output.

Collo's market research revealed that just for milk production alone, an annual 8 million liters are being wasted due to lack of inline process control. By using the company's solution, these producers can save milk and around 35 million liters of water, as well as lower CO2 output by 11 million kg.

The startup's innovative sensor is compatible with any liquid used in industrial processes and can replace traditional sensors, offering better performance. Matti Järveläinen, co-founder and CEO of Collo, said that" the global food and beverage industry is going through a significant transformation driven by climate change, rising demand for sustainable operations, and increasing environmental regulation."

Collo currently collaborates with some of the largest dairy producers in the world, such as Danone and Fonterra. Mikko Huumo, Investment Manager at SEB Greentech VC, which contributed to the funding round, added that "it is more critical than ever for process plants to invest in technologies that help cut emissions and conserve water fast."
