PepsiCo has ordered 21 Tesla Semi autonomous trucks for its factory in Sacramento, California. The company ordered the first trucks five and a half years ago, and the first deliveries of the trucks took place in December 2022. In addition to the 21 in Sacramento, 15 more trucks are at the Frito-Lay subsidiary, also in California.

In addition to the Tesla Semi trucks, PepsiCo also has Tesla chargers with a capacity of 750 kW each. They charge vehicles up to 80% in just 45 minutes.

The trucks are used for deliveries within a radius of only 100 miles, with several stops along the way. According to Tesla, the truck has an autonomy of 800 kilometers.

According to PepsiCo data, the Tesla Semi reached 1.1 kWh per kilometer. Until now the trucks were not available to the general public, but only to certain companies. Also, their price is not known. Data shows that the Tesla Semi would cost between $180,000 and $200,000.
