According to Euronews.green, the device belongs to an American company, named Aeromine Technologies and is made of specially-designed vertical airfoils that generate powerful current which is transferred to a turbine located behind them.

Claus Lønborg, managing director at Aeromine, explained that "our “motionless” wind energy technology is designed to work seamlessly alongside solar systems, maximizing the renewable energy output from rooftops while helping address challenges like noise, vibrations, and wildlife impact."

The new wind power system is able to work concurrently with the existing 11.000 solar panels mounted on top of the facility, producing enough power for around 850 households. BMW Startup Garage is the subsidiary which provided the required funding for the system, which will be able to provide green energy whenever the sun isn't shining bright enough.

Aeromine's wind power systems have capacities of at least 50 kW each, making them suitable for large buildings, such as warehouses, office buildings and even apartment buildings. Another company exploring different approaches to harnessing wind power is New World Wind, coming from France, which installs micro wind turbines on top of tall structures that resemble trees.
