ESG Today writes that Texas-based Infinitum was founded in 2016 with the purpose of developing energy-efficient electric motors for various industries, as these account for 53% of the energy we use on a global level, according to IEA (International Energy Agency) experts. Current-generation industrial motors operate on a single speed, while Infinitum's solution, called "air core", has a variable drive, allowing the motors to run at lower speed, when that's possible.
Furthermore, the engine developed by the company is 50% smaller and lighter than others, while using 66% less copper in its construction and consuming 10% less energy. Additional optimizations to the internal components allow the company's tech to also be up to 10 times more reliable.
Ben Schuler, founder and CEO, Infinitum said that "millions of electric motors are needed each year to power AI, cool our buildings and electrify industrial workloads, and it’s critical for the planet that we choose to implement advanced, high-efficiency motors rather than conventional motors. We look forward to further expanding our company to meet customer demand and accelerate production of our sustainable motor systems."
Any thoughts?
