According to New Atlas, the hydrogen factory should be able to gather as much as 60 gigawatts of solar and wind power, which will be used in order to produce approximately 2.5 million tons of green hydrogen per year.

The resulted hydrogen will be kept in storage caverns at the Piedras Pintas salt dome, after which it will be transported through a pipe system to Corpus Christi and Brownsville.

The storage caverns are meant to be able to hold some hydrogen reserve and in the meantime new hydrogen will be produced with the systems from the surface, so that the gas can be continuously delivered to customers.

The delivered hydrogen will be turned into green ammonia and sustainable aviation fuel, among other things.

Green Hydrogen International has some plans to develop a pipeline system that will be able to deliver the produced hydrogen as far as Japan or South Korea in the future, as well as developing green methane rocket fuel.
