According to CNBC, the beauty company also states that the packaging contains 75% less plastic than traditional conditioner packages and that it is made in a carbon-neutral factory.

This new type of product comes from the company's effort to promote sustainability and create sustainable products for its customers.

Adrien Koskas, global brand president at Garnier said that "we conduct a survey every year about how people are committed to sustainability.

We actually interviewed 30.000 people in nine different countries and 83% of people want to be more sustainable every day, which is a really big number, but only 5% are actively sustainable every day"

He also thinks that companies are the ones that should "deliver for the consumer, first and foremost", so that the actual product is made in a sustainable way.

The beauty company will partner with National Geographic to educate people regarding sustainability and how to recycle their products, if needed.

"We are partnering with National Geographic to create content to educate people on how to become more sustainable every day. How to recycle your beauty products, how to use less water in a beauty routine and we think it's a great mission for us and really helps the consumers in this green quest", Koskas added.

Adrien Koskas also said that one of Garnier's sustainability objectives for this decade is "to have zero virgin plastic by 2025."

To promote sustainability online, Garnier launched the "One Green Step" initiative, where they will recycle five bottles for each "One Green Step" video shared and ten bottles for someone who shows in a video of their own what kind of steps they take for a more sustainable life.

The company hopes that through mass-sharing more people will become more aware of what sustainability is and will become more sustainable themselves.
