Fleet didn’t receive any outside funding, which forced them to be lean and optimize the operations. They don’t own a warehouse and they are partnering with financial institutions for credit lines for companies.

100.000 users in 120 countries for Fleet

In addition to new softwares and products, the company has tried to expand across industries and regions and is spread across 120 countries and has around 100.000 users.

Currently working with over 1.500 companies, Fleet is launching software services on top of the hardware provided. The softwares varies from cybersecurity to insurance by offering the possibility of a pre-installed mobile device management (MDM) called Omnissa’s Workspace One, Bitdefender for cybersecurity or even Keeper as a password manager.

The customers that are reaching the end of their leases after three years are now eligible for refreshing, which is why the company has a donation program used for these devices. Fleet works with nonprofit partners and redirects the devices towards teams that can use the laptops.

The rental can be made by companies of all sizes in exchange for a monthly fee. By ordering multiple devices, the client sends a request to a financial partner and then signs a contract on Fleet’s website before the order is placed.

“We are connected to the APIs of seven financial partners in France - they represent pretty much the entire market. We have completely automated the process,” explained Fleet co-founder and CEO Alexandre Berriche for TechCrunch.

Fleet has expanded over the years, renting smartphones, tablets, furniture or accessories.

The startup has in plan new features and services, such as features meant to locate lost devices and lock them and to offer insurance products, hence their partnership with Evy, a French company for product protection.

On the European market, other companies that offer this kind of service are Inki Tech or Telerenta from Romania, which expanded to different devices rather than just laptops.
