Tech.eu writes that real estate is one of the world's most polluting industries, accounting for 40% of the planet's emissions. Specifically, 70% of the sector's footprint comes from building operations, while 30% comes from constructions.

Currently, only 2% of the world's buildings support the industry's goal to reach net-zero by 2050.

Scaler, founded in 2021, developed a software solution to facilitate ESG data collection and reporting to transform it in valuable information that can be used by operators and industry experts to accelerate decarbonization.

Scaler's solution can help building owners create a sustainability plan for their constructions, as well as adopt the fastest and most efficient sustainability drivers, such as renovating or installing solar panels and heat pumps.

Since its launch in 2021, the startup secured 30 customers with over 350 billion USD under asset management and which collectively committed to 480 million USD in modernization features for their buildings.

Scaler customers were able to reduce their carbon footprint by 15 million kilograms in 2022 or about the same amount of carbon emissions released by over 10.000 homes in a year.

Zlatan Menkovic, co-founder and CEO of Scaler, said that "investors are under pressure to decarbonize their portfolios, but to do this effectively they need data, presented and analyzed in a way that helps them make the best decisions, for their clients and the world. This is exactly the problem we’re solving with Scaler and we’ve been blown away by the reaction and feedback from our customers."
