According to Electrive, Kleanbus' solution doesn't require rare earth metals to build the electric motors, which is even better for the planet.

Through Repower, the company's name for the electrifying solution, officials claim that they can turn any single or double-decker from diesel to electric at a fifth of the normal costs.

The company first scans the interior and the overall design of the bus, which it uses to create a unique platform.

After testing trials of the new platforms prove successful, it should take less than two weeks to retrofit a bus, according to company representatives.

The British company is flexible when it comes to financing the operation, as customers can opt for upfront payments or they can finance the battery or the battery and the vehicle.

Company cofounder Joe Tighe stated that "with 9 % of UK buses powered by diesel engines that emit large amounts of carbon, oxides of nitrogen, and particulate matter – and a staggering 35,000 of them on the road – the country faces a major challenge to rapidly decarbonize this vital transport sector and is struggling to move quickly enough."

He added that the solution offered by Kleanbus is faster than other methods of converting the buses and more cost-efficient as well.
