UK could be the site of an upcoming facility making fuel cells

Loop Energy, a Canadian company specialized in fuel cells, looks to expand further into the European market, by opening a fuel cell component production facility in the UK.

According to Electrive, the factory's site could be just outside of London and the company already started the recruitment process.

Loop Energy President & CEO, Ben Nyland, said that "our investment commitment for the UK market is strategic to serve both UK and the rest of Europe."

"We expect to service a truck and bus market size upwards of $15 Billion over the next 2 to 3 years, and our UK facility is established as the localized support center for these vehicles", he added.

Loop Energy also signed an agreement with German company Rheintal-Transporte to deliver fuel cell range extenders.

The Canadian company also has orders from Slovakian bus manufacturer Mobility & Innovation.
