The rooftop project has a total output of 807 kWp and was installed on the roof of Romtextil SA's production unit in Constanta.

Established in 1993 in Constanta, Romtextil SA is the market leader in the production of polypropylene bags in Romania. Romtextil products are present on the most demanding markets in Europe, Asia and Africa. The company has over 300 employees, a monthly production capacity of over 1,000 tons of polypropylene and ended 2022 with a turnover of 104,399,248 lei.

For this project, Restart Energy has installed 1,404 panels on an area of 6,480 sqm. The panels will produce 888 MWh of energy annually, which is about 12% of the company's energy needs.

The solar power plant reduces the amount of CO2 emissions emitted into the atmosphere by about 293 tonnes per year and reduces radioactive waste disposed of by about 2.66 kg per year.

Carbon emission reductions through the implementation of solar energy projects will be monitored through the RED platform, implemented in 2021, a marketplace dedicated to carbon footprint calculation, carbon emission reduction through sustainability projects or carbon footprint offsetting. Green attributes, both those obtained for individual sustainable actions and carbon credits, can be sold internally through the RED platform marketplaces, through a technologised, transparent and secure process dedicated to reducing carbon emissions and improving ESG policies.

”The decision to consume green energy from nature's own sources at lower cost is a simple one. Photovoltaic panels significantly reduce an industrial company's production costs and bring added stability in an unstable economic climate”, says Aurica Cojocaru, Romtextil Administrator.

”In the context of recent years, energy costs can make the difference between a profitable industrial business and one that is barely moving forward. Easy access to cheap and renewable sources of own energy is a precondition from which growth can start for local SME industrial customers but also for key account, big local and multinational customers. Our solutions, through our Solar, Cogeneration, Supply or Distribution Division, and the support we offer in choosing financing solutions are dedicated to optimizing the partner's costs and making them independent, with predictability in their development plans”, says Armand Domuța, CEO & Founder Restart Energy.

Restart Energy provided the entire energy efficiency project for the beneficiary company, from consulting and design to implementation.

In January 2021, Restart Energy signed a partnership with the American fund Interlink Capital Strategies of Washington DC to finance the development of 500 MW of renewable projects in Romania by 2025, to supply 100% locally produced green energy to all end customers.

In February 2021, Restart Energy successfully launched the first convertible green bond issue in Romania to be listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange with the code REO26.
