The Next Web writes that HR Bank, as the device is known, was designed to offer people living in urban environments, but not only, a reliable resource for backup green power in case of emergency, while also helping them stay fit.

Tukas EV CEO Jonas Navickas said that "our idea was that a person who bought an HR bank could not only use it as an external battery, charged from the sun or the grid, but in the absence of an external power source, could generate energy by pedaling."

Exercise bikes existed for a long time and were designed for those who wanted to enjoy riding a bicycle, but either couldn't find a safe track to do so or simply didn't have enough time to stray away from their homes.

The HR Bank can be the perfect solution for staying in shape at home, while also providing green backup power for your home, should an emergency occur.

Lightweight and highly adjustable, the device is suitable for people in a wide range of ages and can even be converted into a workstation for those who want to exercise while working.

The energy is being stored in a 2kWh battery, which is enough for powering phones, laptops, a TV for two days and even a refrigerator for up to three days.

"Access to electric energy is a crucial element to one’s livelihood, which was the main motivation for the team to create, refine, and launch a product that could address the issue", the CEO added.

The price is fairly steep, though, at just under 3.000 euros for the cheapest version, which luckily doesn't skimp of the battery size, but uses more economical materials. Still, for those already looking to become more energy independent in case of emergencies, such as power outages, the HR Bank is certainly one good option that you can power yourself, no matter how long power is out.
