As per Euronews.green, experts at Space Solar claim that the orbiting solar panel system will be more productive than any other solar farm located on Earth. The reason why scientists look to farm energy from outer space is because solar radiation is stronger there and therefore, more energy can theoretically be harvested.

In fact, sun rays are 10 times stronger on Earth's orbit than down on the planet and they can be collected virtually 24/7.

Experts at the European Space Agency (ESA) said last year that they were looking to implement a solar panel system in space at an altitude of around 36.000 kilometers.

As per ESA officials at the time, "[such a project] would ensure that Europe becomes a key player - and potentially leader - in the international race towards scalable clean energy solutions for mitigating climate change."

Sam Alden, from Space Solar, said that "space-based solar power has long been considered the ultimate clean energy source."

Company officials stated that they plan to deliver 20% of Earth's energy requirements using 600 satellites.
