According to Electrive, Mercedes' project was first announced in 2017 and deliveries were postponed a few times, first expected in 2019.

AMG boss Philipp Schiemer said that "the Mercedes‑AMG ONE is the most ambitious project we have ever undertaken – from development to production. The production of the exclusive small series is a truly unique challenge."

"For the first time, the hypercar brings current Formula 1 hybrid technology almost one-to-one from the race track to the road and combines overwhelming performance with exemplary efficiency", he added.

The powertrain moving the car is a 1.6 liter V6 gasoline engine coupled with four electric motors.

The internal combustion engine is able to produce as much as 565 hp, while the total power output of the car is rated at over 1.000 hp.

Hypercar One accelerates to 100 km/h in under 6 seconds and is able to achieve a top speed of over 350 km/h.

The car can be driven in hybrid mode or pure electric mode for those wanting to limit their emissions to an absolute minimum.

Before delivering each of the 275 units, a designated driver will be testing them near the factory to ensure the car is performing adequately.
