Thus, in 2023 the interest in insulating materials is at the highest level so far, with a 15% increase in demand and 16.17% in volumes, to over 120,000 sq m per month, compared to last year for this type of products.

Romanian consumers want to reduce their monthly utility expenses as much as possible, and the presence of thermal insulation in the floors reduces thermal energy bills by over 30% per month.

Thus, among the most sought-after insulation solutions, by real estate developers and individuals, are underfloor heating insulations that contribute the most to reducing thermal energy costs, with demand increasing by 15% this year, followed by reflective insulations and the premium ones for multilayer parquet, according to ISOTECKLINE.

Most requests for thermal insulation are registered in Bucharest-Ilfov, Cluj, Timișoara, and Oradea, and the value of an order varies between 200 euros and 2,000 euros.

"The quality of thermal insulation has become one of the main reasons for choosing and purchasing a home, both for reducing monthly expenses and for high thermal comfort, especially during the winter when gas consumption is high. Therefore, a thermally insulated apartment or house with quality materials finds a buyer faster than a home that records heat loss. The most sought-after materials are premium floor insulations, which help maintain thermal comfort in homes and reduce utility costs, but we are seeing a growing interest in underfloor heating solutions. In addition to increasing thermal comfort, insulating materials for floors come with an additional advantage, protection against moisture", says Cristian Bădescu, CEO of ISOTECKLINE, part of the INATECH group.

At the same time, reflective thermal insulations, for insulating the ceiling and walls, are increasingly used by real estate developers and builders in the construction of houses, both to reduce heat consumption in winter and to maintain an optimal temperature in summer.

"With a constant increase in thermal energy prices, Romanians face an increasing financial effort to keep their homes at a comfortable temperature during the cold season. In this context, investing in efficient thermal insulation becomes an attractive option for many house and apartment owners, thus achieving a 30% reduction in monthly energy expenses. In addition, in addition to this reason, Romanians prefer the more expensive, but quality, thermal insulations manufactured in Romania, with an efficiency that lasts for decades after installation. Also, thermal insulations are ecological products, they do not contain substances toxic to the body and do not show radioactive emissions, being 100% recyclable", explains Cristian Bădescu, CEO of ISOTECKLINE, part of the INATECH group.

Sound and acoustic insulations are also of increased interest to real estate developers, especially to combat impact noise in apartments.

The benefits of thermal insulation are multiple, including reducing heating costs, improving the thermal comfort of the home and contributing to protecting the environment. By properly insulating the walls, roof and windows, heat loss from the home can be significantly reduced, leading to better energy efficiency and significant long-term savings.
