Coldplay's prize for the world's forests: one purchased ticket, one tree planted

In a partnership with One Tree Planted, for their Music of the Spheres tour, Coldplay will plant one tree in select locations across the globe for every ticket sold, Romania being one of the countries which will benefit from the initiative.

This is meant to strengthen the band's pledge to support sustainable practices. Coldplay will host concerts in Romania, as well, next year, on the 12th and 13th of June. One Tree Planted will support reforestation efforts in the Făgăraș Mountains, as the organization already planted around 5 million trees in Brazil, Haiti, California and the Andes.

Forests are an essential part of our planet, as they have their own ecosystems and are home to many species of plants, animals and insects. They also help us fight air pollution, stabilize the ground and also keep the temperatures around the globe under control.

At the same time, a quarter of the world's medicine are produced with the help of trees. One Tree Planted supports all of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, three of them directly: sustainable cities and communities, climate action and life on land.
