The world's greates investors urge companies to preserve nature's ecosystems

Nature Action 100, an investor engagement initiative with 190 institutional investors managing 24 trillion USD worth-of assets, recently presented its list of 100 companies which will be part of a campaign aimed at encouraging corporate action to address nature and biodiversity loss.

ESG Today reports that some of the companies targeted by the campaign are Amazon, Nestlé and McDonald's, while the key targeted sectors include pharmaceutical, chemical and food and beverage.

Nature Action 100 was launched back at COP15 United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity in 2022 with the aim to encourage corporate ambition with regards to nature conservation efforts. UN officials said that the initiative was deployed as the financial risk of ignoring nature conservation would equate to losing 44 trillion USD worth-of financing in the future or half of the world's current GBP.

Companies are urged to implement strategies in order to minimize their impact on nature, while also focusing on biodiversity restauration, since deteriorated ecosystems started to affect economic operations.
