Einride launches the second generation of its autonomous battery-powered trucks

Sweden-based Einride, a company specialized in digital, electric and autonomous cargo transport, presented the second generation of its Rigid Large autonomous vehicle and a charging solution dedicated for large commercial vehicles.

According to Electrive, the second generation of the Rigid Large offers more loading space, despite the fact that officials didn't specify any information regarding technical data or dimensions.

Engineers were also able to improve the optical sensors, the top speed limit and night vision capabilities of the autonomous truck.

The new generation of autonomous trucks could be delivered to customers starting 2023.

Einride also presented a charging solution for battery-powered trucks, which company officials say will be installed in strategic spots along roads and can be used by fleet operators.

The company already implemented its charging stations in Sweden and it now looks forward to build the second set of 200 charging points for trucks near the Port of Los Angeles in the US.

One important customer for Einride is Norway post office service PostNord, which plans to launch the largest fleet of electric trucks in Norway in 2023 and even to extend to Germany.
